Landowners
The proposed transmission infrastructure will span a combination of private and public land between Bulgana in Victoria’s west and Sydenham in Melbourne’s north-west
During the early stages of the project, we will be undertaking extensive investigations to identify the most suitable corridor for the transmission line within the area of interest. These investigations will include, identifying locations of existing services, ground conditions, presence of protected native plants and animals, current land uses, landscapes, and cultural heritage.
In circumstances where we are seeking to undertake investigations on your land, a dedicated land agent will be in contact with you. We are committed to engaging with you openly and respectfully; we want to understand items of importance to you, and ways to minimise impact to your land and/or operations.
Your dedicated land agent will be your main point of contact for all matters relating to your property. For all other matters you can speak to a member of our engagement team (contact details to the right).
Progress update
Since the start of April, we have been in contact with some landowners to commence discussions regarding access licences for site investigations. Due to the size and scale of the area of interest, contact with landowners will take time and is being undertaken in stages, with landowners in some sections of our area of interest contacted already.
These discussions have commenced prior to a decision on a preferred project corridor to negotiate access to begin site investigations
We understand that these discussions may have raised concerns within some communities. We acknowledge that this can bring trepidation about what comes next. We want to ensure that you have the latest, accurate information that you need to support you in this time as we commence our planning for this critical state-significant project.
At this early stage of the project, we may not always have the answers to your questions and queries and acknowledge that this can be frustrating. However, we want to ensure that we undertake a rigorous environmental impact assessment and planning process which explores matters of importance to you, your community and the environment, to reach the best outcome for Victoria. This process will take time.
We are currently collating the common questions raised through our landowner discussions and will update this page regularly with new Frequently Asked Questions.
